Thursday July 25th 2013

7.00pm Official Festival Opening at Knockane GAA Grounds by MEP Brian Crowley.

7.30pm Denis Whelan Memorial Junior Football Tournament Semi Final: Knockane v Kilteely / Dromkeen

8.30pm Historical Talk (Hosted by Pallasgreen/Templebraden Historical Society) at Garrydoolis National School on the Life of Patrick Sarsfield, with an introduction by Lord Bellew – descendant of Sarsfield.
Talk will be given by Liam Irwin, Historian.

Friday July 26th 2013

7.00pm Denis Whelan Memorial Junior Football Tournament Semi Final: Emly v Pallasgreen

8.30pm Dancing at the Crossroads’ at The Idler Bar carpark.
1st Dancers to perform will be The Brigdet Whelan School of Dancers followed by the Pat O’ Dea Set Dancers from Kilteely.

Special Display of the art of ‘Churn rolling’ by kind permission of the Ryan(Doe) Family, Tipperary. Members of Knockane GAA Club will also take part!

10.00pm Trad Night and Cráic in The Idler Bar to follow. Music by various artists.

Saturday July 27th 2013

11.00am Free Guided Walk of Historical Limerick City with Siobhan English. Meeting point for this walk will be at the Hunt Museum, Rutland St. at 10.45am. (Approx. 2 hours)

3.00pm Traditional Open Sportsday at Knockane GAA Grounds hosted by the club. Come and enjoy a variety of both adult and children’s sporting events-you might even win a medal!

9.30pm to 11.30pm Free open air concert with the ‘REVERSE THE HEARSE’ Band at the ‘Idler Bar’ car park. (Secure car parking available locally.)

Sunday July 28th 2013

2.30pm A ‘Service For Peace’ at Templebraden Church with Fr. Patrick Burns PP, Templebraden Church Choir and special guests in a theme of peace ceremony.

Followed immediately by: (in front of Church) Military Parade, Drama, Costumed Riders, Music and the Laying of Wreaths to commemorate the 320th anniversary of the death of Cavalry General Patrick Sarsfield, Defender of Limerick and Marshal of France at Landen in the Spanish Netherlands (Belgium) in July 1693. Amongst those in attendance will be: Cllr.Kathleen Leddin (Mayor of Limerick), Ms Aurelie Bonal (French Embassy), Mr Michael Aendenhof (Belgian Embassy), Irish Army Colour Party from Sarsfield Barracks, Limerick. St Marys CBS Pipe Band (wearing the Clan Stewart ‘Jacobite’ tartan), the Patrick Sarsfield branch of O.N.E. Musicians and performers will be Ailbe Grace (Accordion/Whistle), Liam Carey (Percussion), Finbar English (Fiddle) Pat Marnane (Keyboards) and Eamon Harty (Pallasgreen). Lone Piper is Capt. Michael Egan.
Followed by reception at Garrydoolis N.S.

5.30pm Finals of the Knockane & Denis Whelan Cups at the Knockane GAA Grounds

6.30pm “The Big Film at The Little School” (5 to 12 years old).
Come and see a classic children’s movie (Guess which one ?) at Garrydoolis NS. Enjoy popcorn and soda too – just 3 euros!! Advance ticket purchase available during Saturdays sportsday at GAA grounds.

8.30pm Close of Sarsfield 320 Festival, including BBQ, and presentation of Football trophies (all at the Idler Bar, Knockane)
