Knockane Vs. Fedamore in Caherelly at 8.00pm

Last Saturday evening in Caherelly on a perfect night for football, we drew with Fedamore in the opening round of the east Juniot B Football championship. This was one of the best matches produced at this grade this year. Fedamore dominated the opening period and but for some good defending and a fine save from Denis Fitzgerald we would have found ourselves well adrift at half time. Instead we turned around at half time trailing by just 0-04 to 0-02.
The second half was played at a frantic pace and witnessed many fine scores from both teams as the play swung from end to end. Michael Paul Ryan in particular impressed for Knockane with six second half points.Overall, this was an encouraging team performance with many individuals showing a renewed enthusiasm and energy.

Knockane Vs. Murroe/Boher in Pallasgreen at 6.00pm
Knockane 0-6, Murroe/Boher 4-11
On Sunday evening in Pallasgreen we played Murroe-Boher in the second round of the football championship. Once again we started this game very slowly and found ourselves two goals behind after the first few minutes.
Once we settled we picked off some fine scores from James O'Connor and Niall Ryan. However, just after half time we were hit again with another goal and despite same good passages of play and much determination we could not claw our way back into this game.

Knockane Vs. Oola in Pallasgreen at 6.00pm
Knockane 3-4, Oola 3-11
In the third round of the Junior B football we lost to Oola on Saturday night. Playing against a very strong breeze we were six points down after just a few minutes. However, after the shaky opening we settled and defended well just up to the stroke of half-time when a low shot from an Oola boot, angled its way past several defenders into the corner of the net.
Into the second half for long periods we were guilty of wasting valuable possesion while playing with the elements. Despite scoring three late goals we lost out on the night to a strong Oola outfit. Scoreline: Knockane 3-04, Oola 3-11.

Knockane Vs. Pallasgreen in Kilteely at 4.00pm
Knockane 1-5, Pallasgreen 4-11
On Monday evening we were defeated by Pallasgreen in the latest round of the Junior B Championship played in Kilteely. Scoreline: Knockane 1-5, Pallasgreen 4-11.
Despite playing with the aid of the elements we had a terrible start when Pallas scored two quick goals without reply. However we settled after a long delivery found Michael Paul Ryan who finished smartlty to the net. The half-time score read Pallas 2-5 Knockane 1-3.
The second half found us under early opposition pressure, and despite some fine defending we eventually leaked two goals which ultimately killed off the game as a contest.

Knockane Vs. Cappamore in Pallasgreen at 7.00pm
Knockane 0-6, Cappamore 5-9
On Thursday evening we played Cappamore in the first round of the Junior B Hurling Championship in Pallasgreen.
Despite playing against the elements we started brightly and had all the pressure on Cappamore for the initial 15 mins. However we could not turn our territorial advantage into scores and were made to pay when Cappamore rattled home two quick goals. Despite some fine passages of play and great defending we trailed at halftime by 3-5 to 0-1.
In the second half we once again hurled with determination but missed many chances and conceeded some disappointing scores. Final Score Knockane 0-6, Cappamore 5-9
