In the first round of the east junior b hurling league, Knockane defeated Ahane on the scoreline: Knockane 2-3, Ahane 1-4 in a match played last Friday evening at Newgarden.
The opening point came from Conor O'Dwyer, a goal direct from a free by Jim Franklin and a point from Pa Hennessy left Knockane ahead at half time. Ahane led entering the final quarter, but a late goal from corner forward Johnny Hourigan gave Knockane victory.

We were defeated by Fedamore in the junior b football league last Thursday evening on the scoreline: Knockane 0-9, Fedamore 2-9.
Fielding a weakened team, we struggled early on against a youthful Fedamore side. We trailed at half time by 1-6 to 0-3. The first half points coming from free-taker Pa Hennessy and Michael Paul Ryan.
A bright opening to the second half saw four unanswered points from Niall Ryan pull us back within a point, but a goal by Fedamore and a late point gave them victory on the night.

Knockane narrowly missed out on reaching the semi-final stages of the east junior b hurling league with defeat to Murroe/Boher on Friday evening in Murroe. Scoreline: Knockane 3-4, Murroe/Boher 1-11.
Playing with great determination Knockane were very unlucky to end up on the losing end of this exciting encounter. Despite producing their best performance of the season so far, some wayward shooting and the concession of some lenient frees ultimately cost us the win by the narrowest of margins.
